Kink and Rope subcultures can often feel unwelcoming or uncomfortable to femmes. Femme, in all their glorious variations, experience stereotyping, discrimination, and even limited educational opportunities. We can even internalize these biases and assumptions. This can lead to self-limitation, frustration, a sense of inadequacy, disempowerment, and engaging in activities not aligned with our true desires. It takes away from fulfilling play and enjoyable community participation.

Midori facilitates this discussion, focusing on identifying issues and practical everyday strategies.

• We will explore alternative representations and archetypes beyond the stereotypes. We’ll consider practical somatic strategies for empowered femme bottoming and joyous femme topping.
• Expect some fun exercises as well.

Accessibility

This class will take place on the venue’s ground floor which is fully-accessible.

The ground floor is fully-accessible and includes lockers, social areas, play areas, and two accessible bathrooms. The basement of the venue can only be reached via stairs. There may be music playing in the venue and ear plugs are available for free at the front desk. There may be colored lights and/or moving lights in use throughout the venue.

About the Instructor

Trailblazing educator, artist & irritant to banality, Midori teaches, coaches, and consults on alternative sexuality, BDSM, Shibari cultural competency, and joyful empowerment through D/s and thoughtful kink. She is known for having penned the first English instruction book on Shibari, “Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage” in 2001, paving the way for the popularity of rope today. She founded ForteFemme – Dominance Intensive. Midori is also the Co-Director of Curriculum for Kink Informed Certification with Sexual Health Alliance.
